Concept of Exceptional
Children

Exceptional children are those who
deviate significantly from the normal ones.

Telford
and Sawery (1977):-“The term exceptional children refers to
those children who deviate from the normal in physical, mental, emotional or
social characteristics to such degree that they require special social and
educational services to develop their maximum capacity”.
·
In short, a child who wants special
care, special assistance and appliances to adjust himself in his environment is
generally considered as child with special needs.
