Symptoms of Dyscalculia
Difficulty in following areas:
§  Classifying mathematical signs
§  Reading clock and telling time
§  Calculating basic amounts
§  Learning multiplication table
§  Using calculator
§  Learning mathematical rules and formulas
§  Playing games that involve numbers
§  Reading analog clocks
§  Judging distance
§  Handling money

Role of teacher (dyscalculia)
ü  Use everyday examples with real objects to help the student visualize the problem
ü  Avoid negative feeling towards maths
ü  Encourage students to work math problems on a graph paper to make lining up numbers and symbols easier
ü  Provide multi-sensory classrooms
ü  Use concrete- pictorial- abstract approach
ü  Give them opportunity to drill on skill

ü  Use memory tricks to help students remember (BODMAS)
